On May 22, 2011 Joplin, Missouri was hit by an EF-5 tornado with winds greater than 200 mph, measuring ¾ of a mile wide, which stayed on the ground for six miles. As a result, wide spread damage has affected thousands of people. The initial volunteer response we have received has been overwhelming and the Missouri Conference appreciates the amazing outpouring of support. We are in need of more teams for 2012 as we move into the rebuilding phase of our disaster response. If you are interested in bringing a team to serve in Joplin, Missouri in 2012 please visit the Joplin Relief page on our site at http://www.umocm.com/page23/page23.html.
